So many of you guys know that I love bullet journaling. Some people have asked me what it is and others ask me why I even do it. Well, today I am going to tell you all about it and why I love it so much.
So to start off, what is bullet journaling? Well, it was invented by Ryder Carroll, a digital product designer. In Carroll's words, bullet journaling is to help you track the past, organize the present, and plan for the future. Carroll invented this technique in the '90s and was looking for a simple method of personal organization for college. Thus, came bullet journaling. Another reason for his idea is since he was diagnosed with deficit (deh-fuh-sit) disorder (which is a range of behavioral problems) as a kid, he wanted to build a system to help "move past his learning disabilities." This idea is an amazing system that keeps track of everything you want to put in it.
When did I start? Well, my sister is the one who told me about it. At I think March 24, 2019, my sister was talking to me about bullet journaling and how she always wanted to do it. I looked up some pictures and videos and completely fell in love. In around late July, early August, I started the actual practicing. Not with brush pens but just with regular pens. I only practiced the hand lettering and faux calligraphy. Then, on August 15th, my birthday came. Well, the day before my birthday. My mom gave me gifts and cake on the 15th instead of the 16th. I didn’t really mind though. My mom surprised me with a dotted notebook and colored brush pens along with black ones. I did get other stuff, but that’s what stuck out to me the most. As I started practicing, I absolutely loved it. I never knew that bullet journaling was even something I would like. After I practiced some more, I started bullet journaling for January 2020.
Why do I do it? Well, that’s a very easy question. I started bullet journaling to help with my organization. Some people in school think that I am very organized. Well, guess what? I’m not! My locker is very different from my bedroom. However, I did it to help me get more productive and organized and so far, it’s working. Some things in bullet journaling conclude mood trackers, habit trackers, book trackers, basically all the trackers. Then again, there’s so much more to bullet journaling than trackers. But yeah, long story short, I do it because it helps me stay organized and productive. So, if you want to be more organized, you should definitely try bullet journaling. Guaranteed it will help you so much throughout the year.

How did you know all that history? Who knew it would be that interesting? I also thought bullet journaling was more of a feminine thing, but mazel tov to Ryder.
ReplyDeleteWell, I did some research on bullet journaling, so I didn't really know too much on Ryder's adventure with bullet journaling until I wrote this. I also never knew it would be that interesting either! I only heard of it in late March 2019! And lastly, apparently it was a guy who created it and not a woman so yeah, mazel tov to Ryder I guess!
