Today, red hair is one of the most envied hair colors in the world (Sometimes) Although, it wasn't always that way. Throughout history, redheads have frequently been looked down upon. Examples of this would be fairies and witches being associated with redheads due to their mischievousness and supernatural nature, Early Egyptians believing red hair to be so terrible that they would burn redheaded women alive to get rid of the tint, and Hitler banning the union of two redheads to minimize the production of demon children. It is said that redheads don't have souls, so they steal yours and that they turn into vampires after they die. This list goes on and on and on, but I don't want to take up five pages with it.
Redheads are often depicted as hot-headed people with short tempers and mean personalities, which is just not the case. Redheads have felt the need to die their hair to "fit in" with everyone else. Many redheads get teased as they are growing up, boys more than girls. There are plenty of us who come out of childhood emotionally scarred from the cruel insults and jokes. Did you know that a high rate of boys who commit suicide are redheads?

So, enough with the depressing stuff. Let's get some fun facts!
- Even though redheads' hair tends to look thicker than most other colors, people with red hair actually have fewer stands than any people with any other color. Each strand just tends to be thicker.
- We make up 2% of the world's population.
- Redheaded slaves were more expensive than others.
- Fear of redheads is called "Gingerphobia."
- We require 20% more anesthesia than other patients.
- Red hair and blue eyes are one of the rarest combinations in the world.
- We can not appropriately absorb Vitamin D.
- Bees are more attracted to redheads.
If you do not want to be right hooked in the face, do not call a redhead this:
- Ginge
- Gingie
- Carrots
- Carrot top
- Fire Crotch (This one is absolutely not okay and you will probably be sent to the office if a teacher ever hears you say this.)
- Candle
I hope you have now been more educated about us and will come out of here learning a thing or two! Thank you for reading!!!!!
