CEREAL IS NOT SOUP

So today, our daily warm-up form had the question 'Is a hotdog a sandwich?'. To that, I say of course not, and it infuriates me that some people say otherwise. However, there is only one stupid ongoing argument that I have already won that infuriates me more. Some people claim that cereal is soup.
Oh my god. I will first start by saying NOOOOOOOOOOO. Cereal is NOT a soup. The reasons why are as follows.
m
A.) Cereal is sweet. You may be saying 'Well what about butternut squash soup?'. But Butternut squash soup is salty. Can you think of a salty soup? Of course, you can, tons of soups are naturally salty from the stock they are made of, or salt is added to taste. Can you think of a salty cereal? o, you can't because that sounds disgusting. You had to totally different reactions when envisioning those two things because they are two totally separate foods.
m
B.) Cereal is a breakfast food. You eat cereal for breakfast and no other meal. That is just how it works.
m
C.) Cereal is made with milk. Soup is made with the stock of an animal or vegetable. Cereal has milk, which is not a stock. All soup is made with stock of some kind. Therefore, it can not be soup.

I thank you for reading this and know you see why I am right. I would like to close this by saying hotdogs are not sandwiches, cereal is not soup, and the chicken came first.

    2. First off- cereal isn't always sweet,I eat cereal for breakfast lunch and dinner, and milk is cow stock. I don't appreciate this slander.

    4. MILK IS NOT COW STOCK! Stock is like the juices and fat of an animal in liquid from, along with some water. If you think about it vegetarians can not eat stock because it harms and kills animals in the process. However, they can drink milk because you do not have to kill a cow for its milk. Milk is a natural secretion created by many mammals to feed young, and milk is a liquid that consists of bacteria that eats the fats naturally found in the liquid, and it is very nutritional for infants. ITS NOT STOCK! And yes, cereal is always sweet. Give me one example of a savory cereal, I dare you. Cereal was popular in Europe (especially the western side) for a long time as a BREAKFAST FOOD, as it was cheap to make, tasty, and lots of people were farmers or knew farmers, so it was not hard to get ingredients. This adapted into the cereal enjoyed around the world today. Cereal was always intended for breakfast. I won that argument about free college education, I WILL WIN THIS ONE TOO!!!

    5. Cow juices, fats, and mucus (ick) are all in milk. Cereal with cow milk substitutes are not soups. Also, eggs were intended for breakfast, now they're socially acceptable any time of day. There are savory cereals, and savory twists to cereals. Is there a sweet soup? I think the heck not. But in seriousness, I enjoy this friendly debate 😌

    1. Uhhhh, no. HOT DOGS AREN'T SANDWICHES!! Even though they are a piece of meat in between two pieces of bread, THEY SHOULDN'T CLASSIFY AS SANDWICHES! Sandwiches are WAY different from hot dogs. That's all I have to say.

  5. Actually, in west Asian countries, eggs have always been used in every meal so you can't use that as an example thank you. Also, I think we can all agree that I've won here thanks again, now lets move along.
