K-Pop is better Than you Think

Staying up till midnight for front row tickets to a concert that sells out in point five seconds, screaming in a language you can't speak, and life lessons to every song. K-POP, the $5 billion industry has been taking not only America but other continents like Europe and Australia by storm. Thanks to the article by The Rolling Stone Author Amy Wang, and  Genius Lyrics I found some information. The relatable lyrics, stunning visuals, mesmerizing choreography, light speed raps, and of course, the fans. Sadly I can only get into three of those things.
The lyrics are always fun to hear and will boost your confidence. During the song “Levanter” by Stray Kids, the lyrics speak strongly since verse one. Though the chorus states “I wanna be myself (I don’t care), Even if it’s still strange (I don’t care), As soon as I broke away from you, I can see myself, everything, all before my eyes.” The song was written by the group’s leader Woojin after he left the JYP Label due to depression. When the song says “As soon as I broke away from you, I can see myself, everything, all before my eyes” he mentioned how he saw himself better and how without a busy schedule his life calmed down.
Seventeen Hit Choreography
You may be asking why I mentioned choreography. The choreo is one of the most important parts of a song, next to the vocals. During the song “Hit” by Seventeen, the choreo gets so complicated that you keep watching it over and over again. The song was given the award for the toughest dances to learn for 2019 at the MAMA awards (M-Net Asian Music Awards). In the YouTube video made by AE Top Music called “THE HARDEST KPOP DANCES OF 2019, which follows the rankings at the MAMA awards for the international fans with school the next day and couldn't stay past till midnight streaming a live event. The YouTube video clearly shows you how easy the first song is and how hard the last song is.

K-CON LA Day 3 concert
The last part I will go over is the fans themselves. K-POP has one of the most devoted fandoms out there. The Article “How K-Pop Conquered the West,” written by Amy Wang states, “When the event, K-con, was first held in the U.S. in 2012, it drew a few hundred fans and curious locals. That number has since swelled to more than 125,000, divided between conventions on both coasts.” That explains why it's so hard to get tickets to some of these concerts. They sell out immediately. Going to a place like that with over 125,000 people would make me feel overwhelmed and extremely claustrophobic.
We talked about lyrics, choreo, and fandoms today specifically the ones that belong to K-POP. I stated at the begging how K-POP is taking over the globe. I was even planning on going to the very first BTS 2020 world tour concert. You can only guess what happened. It sold out. Sure we spend thousands of dollars and all seem mentally ill, we go through more than you can imagine. Up to like 10,000 comebacks a month, Idols getting kicked out or leaving their groups, Idols enlisting into the army. We are stronger than you think. K-POP is better than you think.
