FIlm Recommendation of The Week
Review Frankenstein is one of the most iconic films of the 20th century. there are some scenes in the film you will probably know of at least one film that references such lines as "It's Alive" and many others. The monster is sympathetic and his eventual "death" (it turns out he is alive in the sequel Bride of Frankenstein) is tragic. It is a must-see watch for anyone who likes films.

what the filmmakers did with the monster is something, unlike anything we have ever seen. we have never seen a monster as well known as Frankenstein(Maybe Dracula). He is a very sympathetic character. He is brilliantly played by Boris Karloff. The monster is just misunderstood and tragic.
The sequels
Frankenstein is a part of what many people call the universal monster movies. these are horror films from the '30s and '40s made by the film company universal. others may include Dracula, The Invisible Man, The Mummy, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and The Raven. Bride of Frankenstein is the first sequel released in 1935 where the mad scientist is forced to make a bride for the monster and is considered one of the best sequels ever. Universal then made Son of Frankenstein where the son of the mad scientist brings back Frankenstein from the dead. Next, came The Ghost of Frankenstein, and after that there was Frankenstein meets the Wolfman Where one of the most epic duels ever to grace the cinema screens. next came the first of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's horror vehicles for Universal Pictures in Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein. The original series is over, but the Frankenstein legacy will live on for centuries to come.

Cool
ReplyDeleteThis is a classic! I enjoy the movie, but the book is one of my favorites. One thing to remember is that it is a common misconception that the creature is named "Frankenstein." Frankenstein refers to Victor Frankenstein, although one could argue that Victor Frankenstein is the true monster.
