Julie's Journey #11 - My Bullet Journal Supplies

So I know I said I might not be blogging for the rest of the year, but I decided to anyway since the holidays (a.k.a Christmas) is over. Today will be shorter and it will also have more pictures and links (maybe not links, but definitely pictures). Today is me just displaying my calligraphy with different materials.

Artwerk Dual-Tip Brush Pens: (That is the real spelling, guys. I know that it's weird.)

This calligraphy is a bit off. It isn't my best calligraphy. Since the tips are so flexible, it was harder to control. But it was still fun using them.

iBayam Brush Pens: (These are not colored, but by far the best for calligraphy.)

Large: Like the Artwerk Dual tips, it was really hard getting the right amount of pressure, so it obviously looks really bad.

Medium: This one is good. It has the right amount for bigger lettering.

Small (Fine): This one is the best one. It is really good at giving off that calligraphy effect.

X-tra Small (Extra Fine): This one comes after the Fine tip brush pen. It works really well for smaller lettering.

Crayola Supertips: (All I have to say is I HIGHLY recommend.)

These super tips work really well! It mimics a real brush pen and it is just the right amount of stiffness and flexibility.

White, gold, and silver gel pens: (Not used for calligraphy, but works well on dark paper and the white can be used as white-out on white paper.)

All I have to say is that these gel pens work GREAT!!! They work on black and dark-colored paper.

Thanks for reading y'all! See you in the next blog! Bye!

Julie's Journey #10 - Top 10 Tips for the Holidays

So right now, it is 3 and 1/2 days 'til Christmas. My top 10 tips to have an enjoyable holiday:

  • If you don't like the present you get, don't be a jerk about it. At least pretend you like it not to hurt anyone's feelings.
  • Focus on what's important during Christmas or whichever holiday you celebrate, your family is obviously more important than your presents.
  • If you don't know what to get someone, get them a card with money inside of it. Now they can buy whatever they need and you won't look like you didn't know what to get them even though that's exactly what you did (๐Ÿ˜‚).
  • Always keep the Christmas cards you receive no matter what. Don't ever throw them away because if it was made by a kid, they could have worked hard to make that card.
  • Don't bug your parents about opening your presents. Chances are if you keep bugging them they will just get more and more annoyed resulting in them making you wait longer; nobody wants that right?
  • SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY! I cannot believe how many people don't spend time with their family during the holidays! They take advantage that they have time off of school to play video games or do other things. The whole point of these holidays was supposed to spend time with your family, not be away from them!
  • If you are an adult and you are going to travel during the holidays, don't travel alone. Take a friend with you so (1) being in the airport won't be boring, (2) if you are on a plane and crash you will have someone to be with, and (3) they could help you with things if you need to carry them and vice versa.
  • Make sure you don't leave anyone out if you are having dinner or playing games. I hate when people are left out and you should too.
  • Make sure every holiday you get each person a different present every year.
  • Last but certainly not least, have fun. Cherish the time you have with your family, don't let it go to waste.

Thank you for reading! I'll talk to you in the next blog! Bye!

❤ - Julie Z.

(Also, this will most likely be my last blog for 2019. I don't want to keep blogging during the Holidays because who would? Again, thank you. I will probably start a new blog on the 1st of January. 10 more days. On a side note, I cannot believe it will already be 2020! Anyway, I hope y’all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, and an awesome New Year!! Love y’all!! Bye!!)

all about my night tonight

Tonight I first went to my girl scouts leader mom's house at 5:45 or close to about that time to pick up a sandwich order form that I ordered. Okay so now here is where it starts to get a little crazy. Then we went to khols well we were only planning on going to holes and getting a coffee pot well they didn't have the one that my dad wanted so we didn't get the coffee pot but then we were only going to get one thing which was the coffee pot right. Well, guess what that's not all we got. And oh my word here I go so then we got a toy for my baby brother and then we went to his clothes section as well, with my other little 5-year-old brother we went to the blasters nerf gun section to get him a blaster, then I found out that they didn't have little magnet toys to put on the fridge for a 1-year-old, Finally, we were in line to check out and oh of course then my dad got out of line and went back to get my mom perfume, he said all of my Christmas shopping is done when he didn't get me or Shane = 11-year-old brother anything yet. I'm like dad now how fair is that what do you want us to do on Christmas day when everyone else is looking and opening gifts and we just watch them get there presents and we just watch them(now comment down below if you want to do you think that that was fair at all for my dad to do that.)(he said oh who's getting you your gifts ohh aunt Roxanne's getting you that and I go dad now come on)The only reason in my head I am thinking that he doesn't want to get us our gift because apparently, the perfume was too expensive. Well it's kind of like you bought it so what do you accept you know what I mean. (All in kohls).Eventually, We made it out of that store and then we went to believe the home depot. And we looked for the coffee pot there, also looked for the magnets for the baby. Well, they show us these like magnets that aren't for little kids and they keep saying oh we have them when they don't because they just don't want to lose any customers. Then we tried Best buy they don't have magnets or coffee pots so we finally went to target and still didn't find them. Overall we didn't find the coffee pit that my mom wanted at any of these stores so that's just great. But on the other hand, we did get some gifts you can say so ya that was how my night went tonight I know I felt like I was like on some kind of jungle adventure or something, oh and then when we went to best buy my dad was getting ready to leave and then I had to get to the bathroom so he was like come on go ask the lady so I did and I was running out of breath from all of the runnings that I had to do. Because my dad was like a race car- bumper car in the stores Like I literally had to sprit to catch up with him.Didn't makes it back until 9:00.

Best Christmas Movies of All Time

Hello everyone! Usually, I write about books for weekly blog posts. However, with two more days until holiday break, I decided to talk about my top five favorite Christmas movies of all time.

1. Elf

Elf is easily my favorite Christmas movie of all time. It also, arguably, the best Christmas movie of all time. It contains great actors, lots of Christmas spirit, a great theme for the audience to take away from it, and brilliant humor all families can laugh at all year round.

Elf follows the story of Buddy the Elf (played by Will Ferrell), a man who was raised in the North Pole by Papa Elf, Santa, and all the other elves around him. After one day in December when Buddy is in his thirties, he overhears another elf say that he is actually a human. He then goes on a quest to find his true family in New York. When there, he finds his father, a new world he never knew, and even love.

2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Second on the list, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is my second favorite Christmas movie, with Jim Carrey's hilarious comedy and the fantastical world of the Whos, it makes the ideal movie for a winter day inside.

In How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a little girl named Cindy Lou Who is questioning the real meaning of Christmas. Everyone in town seems to be blinded by gifts, shopping and decorating rather than spending time with family. Then, Cindy gets an idea. What if the most odious man in all of Whoville could be the answer to all of this Christmas Chaos?

3. Noelle

A new Christmas movie! You may have thought it has all been done before, but boy where you wrong. This is a Disney plus+ exclusive movie, so you can only watch on Disney plus+. However, this is a fantastic addition to a holiday movie binge-watching list to anyone who has Disney plus+.

Noelle tells the tale of Noelle and Nick, Santa Clause's children. When the old Santa passes away, it is Nick's job to become the new Santa, however, his training is not going well. After Nick disappears, the North Pole starts freaking out. It is then Noelle that goes on a quest to find her brother, and save Christmas. After a few bumps in the road, she finds much, much more than she bargained for.

4. The Santa Clause (Trilogy)

This trilogy is one of the most iconic Christmas series ever. The Santa Clause stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, a man with a not so positive temper this Christmas. Allen's amazing acting really brings the story to life.

Scott Calvin is a man who has just gotten a divorce, and with his little boy Charlie, this Christmas is complicated. When footsteps on the roof alarm Charlie in the middle of the night, they rush outside to see a stranger with a slay on the roof. After a small incident, Scott finds himself uncontrollably gaining weight, growing a beard faster than ever before, and having his hair turn white. People dout what really happened that night, but Scott and Charlie know, and they are trying to spread the truth and make people understand before anything gets out of hand.

5. The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a classic movie we all watched for five years in a row in elementary school. With years of memories built around the animated movie, of course, it is on my favorites list.

When a young boy is douting whether Santa clause is real or not, he hears loud noises coming from the outside. He goes out to see a magical train in the front yard. After a night full of adventures and Christmas cheer, the boy gets to the North pole and all of his questions are answered.

The Misadventures of Kaleya

I've stopped counting my blogs, there's too many.
Also, all the speculation of my alleged move, shut it all down, friends. The only answer I'm happy to give is nunya.

With that being said, spend every day like it's your last, in general. I could be dead tomorrow, the sky could fall during Christmas break, your crush could die, man. Just live like there's no tomorrow. Live to satisfy yourself and yourself only. Don't live for the cool kids to popularize yourself, or for your parents to satisfy them. I say with my whole chest, pardon my crude language, but screw the world because the world will do nothing but screw you. Talk to your friends, take some breaks, relax and enjoy it. Because you don't know where tomorrow's taking you, and you'll want the good memories to follow. I

know I talk about time management, and study tips but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. The fact that you're failing seventh-grade-math won't derail your life. (sorry mrs. furst, don't take offense) Being consistent is important, but think of it this way-life is meaningless because we could all die tomorrow. a volcano could erupt, the sun could explode, or Jesus himself can step out of the friggin sky and take us all, heaven or else. That's why you make life meaningful! give it meaning, and color. Dye your hair, eat popcorn for breakfast, come out to your friends. it does not matter in the slightest.

I care about all of you reading this. I will never admit it, but even those of you who annoy me, I would trade my life for yours as long as if you made your life meaningful.

For my sake, your sake, and the sake of those who died so could be here, just have fun. On your deathbed, you won't say "I wish I studied more!", you'll have wished you loved more, that you played more. When your mother dies, you'll wish that you could embrace her once again.
So I ask you, if I died what would you regret? Don't allow them to be mere regrets, live and live and live some more. Please?

My Motocross Christmas

During Christmas, I work on my dirt bike and get it ready to tear up next year's circuit of races and all the woods in my area. Of course, I leave one of my bikes together to have some fun in the snow. Also, I put studs in my tires to race on the ice at blue mountain restaurant's ponds. But it's not always motocross and stuff, we do other things as a family but mainly dirt bike stuff. We decorate the tree and make cookies. That's my motocross Christmas.

Julie's Journey #9 - Christmas Decor Ideas

Since Christmas is only 10 days away (it will probably be less than that whenever you read this), I thought I should do another Christmas blog. Today is all about Christmas Decor. Some of these items I have found on the internet and others will be things I already use!

You don't feel like buying stuff. I get it. Here you can find the best decorations that you can make, and they will look store-bought (well, most of them).

  1. Snowflakes - Make snowflakes out of paper and use yarn/ribbon to hang them from the ceiling of your room! I did this; it was so cool and worth it, trust me!
  2. Sock Snowman - Make little sock snowmen and put them all around your room!
  3. Mini Yarn Christmas Tree - These cute little trees will make your room a Christmas Wonderland! (You can probably make mini ornaments and put them on the mini trees too!)
  4. Cardboard Reindeer?! - Sure this is a bit silly or weird, but who doesn't love that stuff anyway?
  5. Log Snowman - This is just too cute...
Here is a link to all the cool things you can decorate with!!

The Portrayal of Haitians in Current Media- The Misadventures of Kaleya

I hope you know by now that I'm not African.
I'm Haitian, (Hay-Chen), my ethnicity is Haitian, my culture is Haitian, my language,(rather my parent's language) is Haitian Creole, or Kreyol. Haiti is not in Africa, believe it or not, not all black people originate from Africa. Haitians share the island of Hispinola with Dominicans, hence the Dominican Republic.

Today I'm here to discuss how poorly Haitians are depicted.

Haitians are seen as dirty, as the brunt of black people. We are seen as poor and uneducated. All Haiti is known for is its natural disasters and poverty. If you look at media all around you, that is all you see. You see the trash on the ground, not our beautiful architecture. You see malnourished children, instead of our church services full of passion. All you hear is "All Haitian immigrants have AIDS" (quoted by Donald Trump, our current president), instead of hearing about how we use castor oil. Did you know in Haiti, they call it "Lwil Maskriti" (lwi mask-itee), and say it can cure 101 diseases?

Last night I watched Bad Boys 2, an action cop movie starring Will Smith, Gabrielle Union, and Martin Lawrence. It was a good enough movie (The first one was better), but something that left a bad taste in my mouth was the depiction of Haitians was absolutely terrible. It makes me sad to think about it.

They only hired one actual Haitian, the rest being African or Jamaican. They had unkempt dreadlocks, wore tacky hats and sunglasses, and were shown as undignified. The ringleader of the Haitians said, in a terrible attempt of a Haitian accent, "The devil is not welcome here!", perpetuating so many stereotypes, With other quotes in the movie, talking about how Haitians don't belong in America, and other terrible things it was hard to enjoy the movie.

Haitians are looked down upon, and there is propaganda everywhere further demoting it. A known Haitian will have to work twice as hard in a room full of African Americans for the same respect. All people see in Haiti is what Donald Trump says is a "****hole" and Voodoo. Haiti is just a nation that needs help, not hate.

Thanks for reading yet another rant,
K.Peace

mikayla's blog!! no.5 (i don't know what to title this)

So, for everyone who doesn't know, I have a 16-year-old sister. In 2016 she was in a very bad car accident, she was in the backseat without her seatbelt on. The car she was in got T-boned, which mean the car got hit in the middle.
^This is what happened. She was in a sling for a while, she healed in a few weeks. It took the other people in the car, a few months. She got very lucky. When I found out I cried and cried, I was really upset. A few minutes ago, I got a call from my mom. My sister was in another accident today. She was alone this time. She was on her way to take some kind of test, and she was on a road that she wasn't familiar with. There was a really sharp turn and the back truck wheels got caught on the gravel and the car rolled 50 feet, with her in the truck. She was hanging by her seatbelt and unbuckled it. Then she crawled out, this happened on the Military base, so the military men took her to the hospital and called an ambulance. My mom called me and let me know. Right now, as I'm writing this, I am in tears. Today she could've been gone, forever. But yeah, thanks for reading :(
^This happened to her today.

Holiday traditions :)

My holiday traditions are pretty dull but I will tell you about them. So usually we just watch a lot of Christmas movies, And we decorate our rooms with lights. Every morning on Christmas eve we have to close our eyes while my mom leads us downstairs to our Christmas tree. That's all for Christmas now for new years. On new years at 12:00, we try and eat 12 grapes in a minute for a wish and we have a little party at our house. That's all i really do on holidays watch that theme of holiday movies and have a dinner party.

My Holiday cristmas traditions

what do I do on Christmas Eve
I go to church go to Christmas eve service sometimes at my cousin's church and sometimes at my church it all depends on if my parents want to take me or not.

And on Christmas day I don't really have an exact schedule but some of it is, so in the morning we always read a verse from the bible and then we open our gifts, my Family comes over=Aunt uncles causing etcetera. Oh and sometime always different days we bake cookie like we basically have a family Christmas party at my house. And then we basically do things I don't know were going to do. And play with my Christmas gifts.

Here are funny adorable pictures of my dogs

Obligatory Christmas Traditions Blog

Hello reader. Welcome to the Obligatory Christmas Traditions Blog. Today we will discuss, you guessed it, my Christmas traditions.

The Traditions

To begin with, I don't really have many Christmas traditions, but I shall continue anyway.

Firstly, every year on Christmas Eve, usually at like 8 or 9 PM, we drive down to my Great Aunt's house and just do some stuff until usually 12. We don't really have a schedule on what we do but, the thing we do the most is usually just playing Bingo for money. One year I won a lot of games that night, but I forget the exact amount of money I got. I think it was somewhere around $100. Usually, my brother and I get money anyway since we are the youngest of the family that goes up there for Christmas Eve anyway so winning is just adding onto all the money we get anyway.

Lastly, a whole lot of my family members come up to our house to give us some presents, money, food, stuff like that. Once again, the reason for them coming up to our home is probably because my brother and I are some of the youngest members of the family. Well, we do have some cousins that are younger, but I guess they aren't really close to the people who come up. Well, besides my grandma on my dad's side. She's really close to them, but she still comes up for a little bit anyway. So, who usually comes up are my grandparents on my dad's side, my grandparents on my mom's side, and my mom's sister and her husband. Usually, my grandparents on my dad's side don't stay up at our house for very long, maybe like an hour at most, but my mom's side of the family usually stays up for multiple hours. That's pretty much it so onto...

The End, I Guess

There's nothing much else for me to tell. As you can see, I don't really have many Christmas traditions, so this blog probably won't be as interesting as the others, I know it. But, that's fine. Thank you for reading through the entirety of this blog. Hopefully, you enjoyed it, if not, I would be interested in why you did not, so tell me in the comments I guess. Anyway, the next couple of blogs are probably just gonna be about JoJo since I've begun to like JoJo quite a bit more than I did last month. Anyway, goodbye, and happy holidays!

My Holiday Traditions

There are a lot of Holiday Traditions, one of the if always going to my Great Grandmas. She always cooks for every holiday my favorite thing she names is sweet potatoes. It is a tradition to always go down to her house because she makes the best food in our family.

If its Christmas we usually get her pots and pans, so she can cook more she loves cooking. It is important to keep this tradition because my great-great-grandmother would always cook for her family, so it got passed down a generation and now she always cooks. Sometimes she grows food in her garden and uses the food she grows in holiday food

My christmas traditions

Winter is the time of year that I take a break from riding dirt bike. In this time period, I deep clean all of my riding gear and take my bike apart. On Christmas eve, I go to my great grandma's house. On Christmas day, My grandpa foley sleeps over and spends Christmas with us. Then when spring rolls around, I get back on my dirt bike and shred the track.

Top; something exactly like my bike

How I Use Time on Christmas

Before Christmas
Christmas is on the 25th of December, Thanksgiving is on the last Thursday of November, Almost a month apart. I celebrate for one whole month, and the day that feels the least like Christmas is Christmas day itself. We don't listen to Christmas music. We don't watch Christmas Movies. We usually don't get snow on Christmas, but we get presents.

Before Christmas AKA the day after Thanksgiving, my family puts up our Christmas tree, after we buy it of course. That day we put Christmas music on and decorate the house, and we listen to the same songs for a whole month. At every store or restaurant, we go to they always are playing the same songs over and over again. Nothing really interesting happens until Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve I go to my Mom's parents and open presents.

 Christmas

On Christmas, I wake up at 5 o clock and open gifts. my family hangs out for a few hours. We then go to my dad's parents to open gifts there then when we get home my mom's parents come over to see our presents. Other than that we have an ordinary holiday break.

Holiday Traditions

Image result for christmas tree"

Image result for christmas pictures]"       First, Christmas Eve in the morning I wake up and always watch the Grinch first. Then decorate the house and make sure everything is cleaned up. Then later that night go to church then meet all my family for a Christmas Eve party and open up some gifts there. After the party, we get home and watch the Polar Express. The next morning I wake up at around 6:00AM run downstairs, open my stocking, then tear open all the presents. Then, I and my family would start making food for a Christmas party. We would have everybody over and open gifts from my grandparents and family.

Christmas Traditions

Christmas Traditions: By Chase Homan

There are so many exciting and unique Christmas traditions. A normal tradition would be to bake some cookies on Christmas Eve. Another great tradition would visit friends and family on the holiday break. Christmas traditions are really fun and Christmas would not be the same without these traditions. The one tradition everyone knows about would be putting up a Christmas tree. Also, here are the best 5 Christmas traditions in my opinion.

Holiday Traditions

Hi, this week I will be writing about something different than usual. I will be writing about my family's Christmas traditions. I have many family traditions but there is one that stands out to me the most. On Christmas morning my brothers and I are wide awake at 7 am and my parents are fast asleep. When the clock turns 8 am it is time for them to wake up. As we walk down the stairs all together we get our stockings (that are hung up on the railing) and bring them down with us. First, we have to eat our breakfast which is cinnamon rolls and bacon. Then comes opening the presents! (my favorite part) The youngest always goes first which is my brother, Jadon. Then me, and Cole. We all rotate opening one present.
After we open all the presents from "Santa" we wait for my uncle Mike, Aunt Sheryl, Aunt Betty, Grandmother, and Grandfather. When they arrive we open the presents we got for each other and then comes Christmas lunch. For Christmas lunch, we usually have Ham, peas, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, etc. After that my family leaves and goes and visits there other families. Then the rest of the day we just chill. So yeah, that's pretty much my whole Christmas day in one blog. I consider Christmas day a tradition because for me every year it's the same. Thank you for reading and bye. :)))

My Christmas Traditions

Every year on Thanksgiving night my family watches Christmas vacation. My family and I always put up three different trees. One of the trees is filled with ornaments from Disney movies, one of them is filled with my dad's sports ornaments, and the last one is our family tree. My dad and I always decorate the outside of our house with lights while my mom and sister do the inside. My family always gets together and makes Christmas cookies. My mom, my best friend and I always go Christmas caroling at my mom's school(she's a teacher).

My traditions

I don't have many family traditions but I do have a couple. One of my family traditions is making Christmas cookies with just my mom and me. It might seem lame to you, but its time for my mom and me to spend time together since I have 4 other siblings so I don't depend a lot of time with just her. Actually, I don't have any other family tradition since its kinda a big family and since we fight a lot my family doesn't do anything. We kinda just do what we want. I know it might seem weird but, it harder than you think to work with a family of mine.
