Julie's Journey #16 - Dear Gloria

SIDE NOTE:

This is a poem I wrote about how much I love my flute. Also, I did name my flute and you can think how weird that is all you want, but just realize, I won't care. Thanks for reading this and enjoy!

Dear Gloria,

How can a mother’s instinct be so true?
Ever since I decided to play an instrument,
My mother said, “The flute will be perfect for you, just wait and see.”
And she was right.

A few months later in the band room,
Putting together a flute which was a spare,
Before my mother received the one she ordered for me,
I started to play and fell in love.

I’m sure I wasn’t good,
But I wasn’t bad.
I only knew several keys but with those several keys,
I played simple pieces.
Songs that were so easy, but yet so meaningful.
I felt the flutes make me fall in love.

When the flute my mom ordered came,
I fell in love even more.
On your case, it said, “Glory”
And then I knew
Despite how weird it was
That I would name you Gloria.

I know we had our rough times,
When you just would not cooperate
But at times when I need you more than ever,
You never let me down.
My love is as powerful as the waves of the ocean.

When I’m up on that stage,
I play you loud and proud.
I feel the music running through my veins,
And you in my heart.

I will always remember,
That whenever I play you, all the memories we had,
In my heart, spirit, mind, and soul,
That you were always the stars to my constellations.

Love you for all eternity,
Julie

  2. Lovely story I love your name for your flute and I really want you to know now I am truly saying this from the top of my heart so if you would please listen to me. Naming your flute there is nothing wrong with that so if anyone ever I'm saying EVER says your weird or ugly thing to you just because your passion as a flute player picking your desire to name you flute doesn't ever mean that anybody should boss you around and you tell um from your own heart your choices with naming your flute. A little secret I name my fridge motto. You go girl desire - believe whatever your heart tells you to believe in or believe in general.

    1. Aww, thanks. I wouldn't let anyone boss me around anyway. It shouldn't concern them that I named my flute. I just felt like naming it, but still, thank you.
