This week I will be reviewing the book "The War that Saved My Life" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. "The War That Saved My Life" is about a ten-year-old girl named Ada and her little brother Jamie in their one-room apartment during World War II. Ada has never left her apartment because her mother is ashamed of her twisted foot. Her mother does not treat Ada fair at all so when Jamie is shipped out of London for safety during the war, Ada joins. They find themselves at a woman named Susan Smith's home. At Susan's house, Ada learns to ride and take care of a pony. Join Ada and her adventures in "The War That Saved My Life"
Do not just take my word for it,
The Wall Street Journal writes "Achingly lovely...will have [readers] wincing at Ada's stumbles and rejoicing to the point of tears in her victories." I hope that you read "The War That Saved My Life" and enjoy it as much as I did. Please remember to comment on what you think and if you have any suggestions to comment on those as well. Until next time, happy reading!
(Just another note, Ada's story continues in "The War I Finally Won")
I will definitely take a look at your suggestion!! :)
