Michael Jordan is better than LeBron James!- Kody Albright

Michael Jordan is better than LeBron James

There have been two really great players in the NBA that people like to compare A LOT.  The two players that I am referring to are LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Even though both players are amazing, Michael Jordan is way better than LeBron James. Michael Jordan is the better player because his statistics are much better than LeBron’s statistics, LeBron always has all-star players surrounding him to assist him, making him look better, and Michael Jordan is respected by almost any basketball lover and sports analysis alike. LeBron James cannot even begin to be compared to Jordan.

First, Michael’s statistics (stats) are better than LeBron’s statistics. Land of Basketball stats have that, The statistics prove that Jordan has more finals championship wins (6) and finals MVP wins (6). LeBron has three championship wins and three finals MVP. Michael Jordan was the scoring leader on his team. He scored a remarkable ten times more than James. The stats even show how Jordan is better than James heck, even Shaq has more finals wins (4) than James (3). One incredibly impressive stat is that he won the three championships back to back twice and he was also named finals MVP for those six titles. Jordan also is a better defensive player and did not turn the ball over as many times as LeBron does in a game. For example, LeBron had 177 turnovers in the Finals but Jordan only had 99. Jordan will always be the number one guy to go to because he has always come up “clutch” during close games; I mean look at the two three-peats Jordan won and his six titles. That is Impressive!

Some may say that James is better than Jordan, but that is just not true! Not only because of the stats, but because of who LeBron’s teammates are. LeBron’s team is hand-selected and has a lot of talent. James has played alongside amazing players throughout his career like Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Kevin Love to name a few. Whereas, Jordan only really had Scottie Pippen and then Dennis Rodman at the end of his career.  LeBron’s team even was able to make it to the playoffs WITHOUT him in 2004 and 2005. Jordan’s teams in 1985 and 1987 needed Jordan to even make it to the playoffs. According to NBC, “If Jordan was healthy than his team made it to the playoffs” but LeBron’s team did not need him to get there. Jordan did not only play well with the teammates that he was given, but he was also respected by them as well. Many of James’ own teammates’ trash talk him and do not like the way that he calls himself the “GOAT” but then does not show up in the game. Jordan once even swished a free throw with his eyes closed to intimidate an opponent, I’d like to see James try that!
Lastly, James cannot come close to being compared to Jordan. I’m not the only one that believes that either. Many people have the same idea of how great he is according to these quotes: According to Bleacher Report “And Jordan—do I need to mention the six titles? The 10 scoring titles? The five MVP's? The Defensive Player of the Year award?” “There will never be another Michael Jordan.” “And if future generations remember him as the greatest ever, that’s fine. But he’s still no Jordan.” “When Jordan played basketball, he played ferociously. His legendary killer instinct may be overstated—don’t forget, he once shot a free throw in a game with his eyes closed while teasing Dikembe Mutombo—but watch any old Jordan playoff game and you’ll see his constant action, constant involvement and constant expenditure of energy.” It is pretty funny that a guy that calls himself the King of basketball and GOAT (greatest of all time) only says it about himself, everyone else says it about the humble Michael Jordan, who would never say it about himself, even though he should!

To sum this up, Michael Jordan is better than LeBron James because Jordan’s stats are better, other people also say Jordan cannot be compared to James and because Jordan can play on any team with or without other great players.
