Students should be able to walk home without a note
Students that walk home prepare themselves for the challenges that lie ahead. Most students that walk home get social time with their friends and a good exercise for the day. Students should be able to walk home.
First, students by the age of 10 should have the responsibility to walk home by themselves. According to Catherine Holecko, "By about the age of 10 kids are old enough to cross streets safely and handle other emergencies that may come up." Students should be responsible enough to cross roads safely because they have matured enough to handle tasks like that.
Next, you should be able to walk home if you are getting bullied on the bus home or if your parents can't pick you up. "Between 1 in 4 and 1 in 3 kids in the US said they have been bullied. Many more have been cyberbullied." Students should walk home if they are getting bullied on the bus or school because it helps the anxiety part of the bullying.
Lastly, some people might say that students should not be able to walk home because there are many safer ways to get home. Although, if your student is responsible to walk home than you don't have to worry about them.
Students should be able to walk home because it lets you socialize with your friends and you get a good exercise.
