A piece on what's happening in Swat/ Sneek Peek at my essay.
The despondent Swat valley is under a vicious attack. Men being murdered for speaking out, women flogged and whipped for not being submissive enough, times are rough in Swat valley. Depression looms over the valley, all tranquility killed with the bullets and bombs of the murderous guerrilla warfare, the government and terrorists at war with Malala-- and all she loves is in the midst. All love, peace, and joy is gone and replaced with fear, and miseducating. It seems like the once-peaceful valley is devoid of light and love, instead blood and sobs line the streets. The education and freedom for the entire female population at stake, ignorance and hate rings louder than the children’s laughter that was once there, until Malala, a brave young woman, an international symbol of education and compassion opens her mouth and lets words of love, and knowledge flow. The young sage is bringing peace to the beautiful Swat Valley where children once ran free, hoping to bring freedom and justice to the once smiling children covered in burquas, and bright women dimmed by lack of education, and widowed by the Taliban’s hate. For the people killed for speaking out against their reign, and the ill-advised children who’re taught the Taliban’s despicable regime. Malala’s wisdom, and perspicuous manner is what Swat, and all of Afghanistan need. And Malala is ready to provide.
