Christmas Traditions With The Yasin's
Hey guys, welcome back. My Christmas traditions are really fun and great. If you don't know where I'm going with this, we will be talking about my family's Christmas traditions! One of my favorite family traditions that we have almost every year is baking Chocolate Chip Cookies. Our Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best cookies you can get from anywhere. Not that we are going to give any of our delicious little delicacies away though, sorry! Our Chocolate Chip Cookies are scrumptious bites of heaven, they're crunchy on the outside and soft and fudgy on the inside. My mom is very particular in making these cookies though. She has her own recipe that is secret, I don't even know it. I could probably guess some of the ingredients though because I know how to make Chocolate Chip Cookies. All you really need to bake Chocolate Chip Cookies are flour, chocolate chips, baking soda, eggs, butter(sticks), salt, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla extract. The next tradition that my family and I do is make Pepperpot with fresh bread. In my culture, there is a dish called Pepperpot. It is made with cassareep, beef, oxtail, and other spices. I am Guyanese, from Guyana, which is in South America, and it is served usually during the holidays and Christmas. It is also one of Guyana's national dishes. We also make fresh bread that you dip inside the Pepperpot. The combination goes together like bread and butter. Pepperpot is almost black, then you eat it with white bread. I am a huge fan of this deliciousness. You should try it because then you'll see what I am talking about. You may or may not like it though because of how many spices are used. Another tradition that my family and I do is decorate the house for Christmas. after the house is done, it looks like a winter wonderland or someplace that you would find in a Christmas Card. One final tradition is that after it snows a lot, I go out with my dad and shovel our driveway. After we come back in, my mom usually has a big cup of Hot Chocolate coming our way. My dad takes coffee that I make for him, and I take the Hot Chocolate.
