The NBA

The National Basketball Association otherwise known as the NBA led by Adam Silver is a basketball league containing 30 teams who compete every year to try to win the championship. The NBA was founded on June 6,1946, by Dr. James Naismith and has been competing until today. The NBA was made when the Basketball Association of America and the National Basketball League merged to form the NBA in 1949. The last team to win the NBA Finals was the Toronto Raptors and it was the first other title defeating the Golden State Warriors in 6 games. Did you know that the team with the most NBA titles is the Boston Celtics with 17 titles? The player with the most titles was Bill Russell, and he played for the Celtics and won 11 titles for them! In the NBA, teams with the best record compete in the playoffs to try to win the Finals. The playoffs are where the best teams from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference play other teams in their Conference in a best of seven game series to see who comes out on top. The two best teams from each Conference then play each other in the best of seven games in the NBA Finals!
