I don't know about you but I adore my pets. No, I don't have a dog or a cat but as you can tell in the title, I have...guinea pigs!! I have one Abyssinian and one American guinea pig. I adore them with all my heart! They make my life a little less crazy. I love coming home every day to feed them and pet them. I also love how when they know I am coming to give them food, they get all excited and run 1 or 2 laps around the cage. Then they come to eat. Down below are two photos of both by guinea pigs' breeds that I got off Google 😂.

Even though they are guinea pigs, I still don't want to share their names online. I will say this though, the Abyssinian looks like a mini-bunny and the American looks like a mini-skunk.
Their favorite food is celery, carrots, hay, pellets, and even guinea pig treats! They only drink water (as if they can drink milk or tea 😂) and they love drinking it. I have seen them sit there and drink water for like three minutes straight! Some guinea pigs have really long hair like the one down below!

I like playing with them sometimes. "How?" may you ask? Well, I usually pet them, get them excited over treats, and then they start running around the cage like crazy! They are faster than I even imagined. I remember that sometimes (it even still happens now) when I come over to the cage to feed them carrots or celery, the Abyssinian comes running over and puts both his front paws on the rim of the cage! It's so cute! Another adorable thing the Abyssinian does is when I put my hand in a "cup" position, he comes over, puts both his front paws on my hand, then jumps over it and runs around! So I have been talking about the Abyssinian a lot, but now I should talk about the American. The American is still scared of me, but occasionally comes over to me and sniffs around. He does let me pet him, but sometimes he just runs away and hides in his igloo house. (Check below for igloo house)
You may think that this is weird, but I actually took a "Which Guinea Pig Breed Are You" quiz and I got the Abyssinian!

That is so cute! My sister, Payton, has wanted a Guinea Pig for a long time and I showed this to her and now she wants one even more.
ReplyDeleteAww, well I believe my mom got ours at PetSmart for around 30 dollars. And if you might decide to get a guinea pig, get two!! Before my American guinea pig came (which was only a couple of hours after we got the Abyssinian), my Abyssinian looked depressed believe it or not! They ALWAYS need a companion because they do feel lonely sometimes.
DeleteThanks, Julie
