The Second World War

WWII

World War 2 was the second war after World War 1 and WWII started because of a sudden attack on Poland that Germany (Hitler) had suddenly done. Two days after that happened France and Great Britain declared war on Germany, which started WWII. On September 17, Soviet troops invaded Poland from the east.

Some facts about WWII

  • Started September 1, 1939 - September 2, 1945.
  • Germany suffered the most casualties with 21 million dead.
  • Hitler designed the Nazi flag. The red on the flag stands for the social idea of Nazism. The white for nationalism, and the black swastika for the struggle of the Aryan man.
  • This is probably my favorite interesting fact I found. Due to the rationing during the war, the lack of chocolate leads to the creation of Nutella.
  • Before the beginning of WWII, Adolf Hitler ruled Germany but he wanted to rule the whole continent of Europe.
  • Japan experimented with suicide ideas quite a lot during the WW2.
