America's Bloodiest War

The Civil War was America's bloodiest war. Specifically the "Battle of Antietam" was the bloodiest day in the Civil War. About 620,000 died during the Civil War for many other reasons than just fighting. The Civil War basically happened because of the disagreement on if slavery should end or not. The southern states wanted slavery and the northern states (which also includes us) wanted slavery to end.  That whole feud led to April 12, 1861. The day the war started. The first "mini" battle the North vs. the South had was called "Battle of Fort Sumter." Some facts down below.

  • At Cold Habor, Virginia, 7,000 Americans fell in 20 minutes.
  • Lincoln dreamed of getting assassinated only 2 days before it actually happened.
