When did World War I start and why?
World War 1 started on July 28th, 1914 and lasted until November 11th, 1918. The main reason why WWI started because of the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his pregnant wife Sophie, but there are other causes of why WWI started also. Four other main reasons why WWI started are because of militarism, imperialism, alliances, and nationalism. But we all think Germany is to blame for WWI but really they were just the ones to influence other countries to take part in the fighting. Germany was the first country to declare war, and that is why everything went downhill from there. Honestly, some people think that World War I was avoidable and I do not disagree but I also do not agree either. I mean Hitler is Hitler and will always be Hitler. There is no changing the fact that he was kinda evil, not to mention he is probably playing tennis with the devil as I am writing this. But back to the task at hand, either way, I believe WWI was gonna happen even if Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife were not assassinated because we were still dealing with four other big issues that I listed above. In conclusion, everyone thought this war would end all wars, oh how they were wrong.
