Julie's Journey #4 - My Trip to Romania 🇷🇴

I love to travel. I love flying in planes. I love road trips. I love going somewhere new. In June 2018, I went on a huge trip with my mom and sisters. It lasted two weeks, although it felt like two months. I went to Bucharest, Romania. Many of you might think that this country is not a major one like Spain, Italy, or even France. I promise you, it is. It concludes of these cool places that I visited: The Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and Pelisor Castle. I loved the Bran Castle the best! It is the real castle of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula). I went inside the castle and it was so antique. I also went into a secret stairway that led to a reading/sitting room! It was so cool! I can't give too much info because I don't want the blog to be too long, but I'll talk a bit more about the Peles and Pelisor Castles. The Peles Castle is the castle that the Romanian royal family lived in. The Pelisor Castle is the castle that the King's nephew lived in as a newlywed marriage gift. It is like a mini-version of the Peles Castle. It was so cool! There are links below about all three castles.

Basically, in the first week we went shopping A LOT! Then the second week we went to the mountains where we saw all the castles. Near the end of the second week, we went to my great-grandma's farm where we saw pigs, cows, ducks, a dog, and even kittens! They were so cute! But I think my favorite animal was the white horse name Cockroach. I got to ride Cockroach and it was amazing! I loved being at the farm because, as you may or may not know, I LOVE animals. However, the one thing I hated was the millions of flies there! At the least, around five each minute would land on you, but you would get used to them.

We stayed at my uncle's apartment. He had two bedrooms and a living room/office! I remember sitting at his desk and drawing in my little notebook. I also remember him having a cool balcony.  We would go onto the balcony and FaceTime our dad who was back at home with our brother. One of the things I didn't enjoy was my sleep schedule. I would always go to bed at midnight and wake up at around eleven o'clock. My normal sleep schedule was going to bed at nine and waking up at eight. In Romania, the latest I went to bed was 2:30am because there was a stupid bug the would not leave my room! I eventually killed it and went to sleep.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my brief story about Romania. Thanks for reading!

(P.S. Comment which vacation you went on was your favorite!)
